I am a sophomore at sterling high school in sterling Illinois. while i was a freshman last year i put together a couple of boxes of supplies. my teacher, got contact of some people in Africa and we sent it there. we have not gotten a reply but i am still looking forward to one. i am one of the people in my community that would like to get involved in things that are happening in other countries. i would like to help. if anyone could get back to me, that would be great. my email is mcgm43@hotmail.com.

The Global initiative of the Clinton's Foundation is to my mind a welcome development. One area I will like the initiative to accomodate is the area of providing Commnity Legal Aid Clinic to rural communities especially in Nigeria. The legal aid clinic will provide not only an enlightenment and awareness campaign on human and peoples rights but will provide access to justice to the people at the grass root.
If the foundation is thinking in this direction, it may wish to consider and collaborate with the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria to provide Community Legal Aid Clinic in some pilot states and local Governments. The cost implication is affordable and it include the cost of enlightenment campaign, office space and monthly stipend for the legal and paralegal staff.
Considering that death sentence has not been abolished in Nigeria and the Government is yet to grant a moratorium, the Community legal aid clinic will go a long way to provide access to justice, which is a very important commodity in President Umaru Musa Yaradua 7 poits Agenda anchored on the Rule of Law.
Note that the existing legal aid system is not only elitist in nature but under funded by Government and can only maintain presence in the Federal and state capitals. The Legal Aid Council of Nigeria at the moment has no presence in any of the 774 Local Government Councils in Nigeria where more than 90% of the indigents reside.

I, am originally from Kenya and currently live in the U.S. Growing up, I had very little in terms of basic needs e.g. clean water, shelter, etc. all these was because of poverty that is prevalent in many parts of the country. I am not rich to make a lot of changes by myself but I know that if these people are given a chance to improve their lifestyle by startitng small income generating projects, their children will have a different story to tell. I have watched former President Bill Clinton on TV and l have also heard a lot about the many great things the CGI is doing around the world. I would appreciate if you can provide me with information on how i can get involved in uplifting the poverty situation in Kenya. Thank you and God bless you for the great work you are doing.
